Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 2026 · Pre-launch draft

Hangover Squads ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights in relation to it when you use our website or mobile application (collectively, the "Service").

1. Information We Collect

We collect information to provide, coordinate, and improve our hangover rescue services. This includes information you provide directly and data collected automatically:

  • Contact Details: Your name, email address, phone number, and physical address for delivery/cleaning services.
  • Booking & Transaction Details: Services booked, group size, and payment confirmation details (actual payment processing is handled securely by third parties).
  • Communication Data: In-app messages and chats between you and your assigned Squad helper.
  • Usage Information: Pages viewed, interaction logs, device type, general location, and crash diagnostics collected via privacy-respecting analytics.

2. How We Use Your Information

We process your information for purposes based on legitimate business interests, the fulfillment of our services to you, and compliance with our legal obligations:

  • To schedule, coordinate, and dispatch local helpers to your address.
  • To facilitate real-time tracking, ETA updates, and communication for your bookings.
  • To process your waitlist registration and send launch updates relative to your city.
  • To respond to your feedback, support inquiries, or customer service requests.
  • To secure, optimize, and maintain the functionality of our website and booking application.

3. Sharing Your Information

We value your privacy and do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information. We share data only in the following scenarios:

  • With assigned Squad helpers: We share your first name, service details, and address to enable service delivery.
  • With service providers: We share data with trusted third parties that perform services on our behalf (e.g. analytics, SMS alerts, and email delivery platforms).
  • For legal requirements: We may disclose information if required to do so by applicable law or to protect the safety of our users or the public.

4. Data Retention

We retain your personal information only for as long as is necessary for the purposes set out in this privacy policy, such as maintaining active waitlist entries or providing booking history. Aggregated, anonymized analytics logs are deleted or fully de-identified within 24 months. You may request deletion of your account and personal data at any time by contacting us.

5. Cookies & Tracking

We use minimal, privacy-focused tracking tools to measure website usage. We do not run third-party advertising trackers or behavioral targeting pixels. You can configure your browser to reject cookies, which will not prevent you from using our waitlist and key booking features.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction (such as rights under the Australian Privacy Act), you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of the personal data we hold about you. If you have questions or wish to exercise these rights, please get in touch with us using the contact details below.

7. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to safeguard your personal data against unauthorized access, loss, or alteration. However, please be aware that no internet transmission is ever 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute safety.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time to reflect operational or regulatory changes. We will notify you of any material changes by updating the date at the top of this policy and, if you are on our waitlist, sending a notice to your email address.
